You will work together with a group of students to learn about some of the characteristics of one great early civilization.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS PROJECT?
Your group will research information, and will design a web site that will include the most important characteristics of one civilization.

HOW?
In the following posts, you will find directions on how to organize your group to develop your project, how to find resources to build your web site, and how to share information about your civilization with the rest of the class.

WHY?
In the end, you will be tested on all of the information you researched and learned from others.

Take a look at the map from the beginning of this page and complete the following KLW chart with help of one of one of your classmates. This map is taken from a website about one of the Ancient Civilizations that you will study. You can browse this web to find some answers for your KWL Chart.

HOMEWORK 1:
Draw a time line using the dates that appear on the video.
You can also create your time line using this website: http://www.xtimeline.com/
You can see an example of a time line made with xtimeline clicking here.
Include in your time line:
  • The names of the different civilizations showed in the video.
  • Remember to record the dates showing the starting and ending points of all the Empires and Civilizations that are shown.
Bonus Points!!! Can you name all the people who appear in the video? Can you add their names and dates of birth to the time line?
